Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
March 24, 2006WHOSE woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
I just find this poem from Robert Frost so poignant. I can’t exactly explain why.I can so totally relate with the horse’s confusion! hehehe Kidding aside, I sense longing, weariness, nature’s beauty, serenity, hope and dream in this poem.

I remember not liking this poem way back in HS. I didn't see hopes and dreams, I only saw bleak uninvited and unwanted death.
Reading it now, luoy gihapon ang lalaki.. pistot gihapon na he can't have time to admire and enjoy the woods a bit longer.. to hell with promises ba! Why can't we choose when ta mamatay?!
Aw.. mali.. drama. hehe
altho lately ang mga horses in this world have turned queer na jud. ahihi
