Total wreck
May 2, 2006My job is taking me away again to Antipas,North Cotabato for a few days starting tomorrow.A 3 hour drive. I love to travel but I hated that particular area. Not only does my ex live near there but also because I had a near death experience when I went there last March 2, 2006. A drunk driver in a multicab collided with the car we were riding on our way home to Davao. It was a total wreck like my life at that time. Hope I’ll live to blog about the details when I get back. Ciao for now!
So here’s what happened. We were on the way home to Davao. I was staring outside the window with tears streaming down my face. The place just reminded me so much of my ex. I passed by his hometown His school. The places he talked so much about. He invited me to go there before but I never found time. The breakup was still fresh. I was so haunted by “what ifs”. Was it right to let him go? Are we worth one more try? Was it my fault? What if I did this or that & etc. What if he was the one? I nearly went mad with all the questions running through my head. I asked God for a sign. I told him that if the song Sway (by Bic Runga my song for him) will play on the radio then I should make up with him. I barely finished my prayer when the song Energy (by Natalie) played on the radio. It wasn’t the song I prayed for but it was definitely one of my songs for him (I swear!).So I cried harder coz I was relieved that I won’t decide no more. God has decided for me that I should make up with him. I know I’m mental for asking for signs and worse for believing in them. Anywayz, I dozed off for a few minutes and was awakened by the collision. I was seated at the backseat and thankfully nobody was hurt even the driver & my officemate seated at the front seat. We were in the Muslim area and were quite far from a police station. Since I know nobody there I decided to call my ex and ask for help. He said he had no number of the nearest police station and he couldn’t be of help. He didn’t even ask me if I was OK. What an asshole! Now is there a clearer sign than that?
Our trip last wed to sat was uneventful ..Thank God! We were able to have some R & R since the hotel we were staying at Kidapawan, Grand Ficus had a pool and a videoke machine. And the scenery of the countryside was awesome. We were able to visit our company’s very own version of the Terraces around 600 meters above sea level..our Banana Terraces. LOLS
We’ll be going back there again this week but I won’t be dreading it this time.
