I think I’m getting addicted to ending my sentence or phrases even my text messages with a series of periods or dots like these. . . I prefer dots with a space in between dot space dot space dot space over dots dots dots

I like it way better than spa   ces   or other characters like this ! or this ? or these !?

The periods have more character…it gives depth to my shallow sentences…it makes it more mysterious….more witty …keeps the reader hanging and it disguises the fact that I can’t compose decent sentences.. at least I like to believe it does

The periods allows me a bit of freedom…it allows me to combine jumbled thoughts into a cluster of jumbled thoughts

I can’t exactly recall when this compulsion started…my fingers started it…it seemed to have a mind of it’s own and likes to tap the period key not once…not twice but at least three times… maybe this is what I get from reading Danielle Steel during HS…she likes dots too…or maybe it even started way back during grade school… ..i remember my fourth grade English teacher saying that we should never forget to put punctuation marks esp. periods at the end of our sentence so the readers can breathe…look ma’am I’m outdoing myself…ending sentences with not just one but a series of periods…I’m sure the readers can breathe. That English teacher died while I was in sixth grade and I thought a pupil must have forgotten to end his sentence with a period and my teacher was not able to breathe… to this day I didn’t who that pupil was but to prevent recurrence of deaths due to non-punctuation… and just because i like it..I’m giving you these fat dots . . .

~and i say to myself…soon i'm gonna make sense

Hagonoy

February 24, 2007

My work in an agricultural company often brings me to remote areas and far flung places. This week we were assigned to Hagonoy to check out their newly set up Papaya operations. Hagonoy is a municipality of Davao Del sur, about 30 kms or an hour drive from Davao City. I and two other officemates went there last Monday. We went there wary and already bored. The first time we visited the area, we joked that we found “the village”. The place was so quiet and seems uninhabited with houses a mile from each other with rice and sugar cane fields in between. Cows, scarecrows and farmers working in the field seem to be the only creatures moving about. However, the place sprung us some few surprises. I actually had a good time. Who wouldn’t? With those refreshing countryside sceneries that I mocked in the first place…the endless expanse of green fields of rice by day and the heavenly bodies at night ;-)   My eyes were treated to a vista of the crescent moon hanging against a backdrop of the inky black sky. And the stars..I’ve never seen so many stars in my entire life. There were practically no electrical posts to diminish the dark night, thus the stars are so vivid.  It almost made a poet out of me…almost.

Valentine’s Day blah blahs

February 14, 2007

   Happy Heart's Day everyone!

I was racking my brains for something to write for Vday or something relative to it. I realled a poem that somebody gave me and so i searched my room for it. Before i was able to find it i unearthed a few valentine mementos.

A handmade Valentine card given by my first bestfriend Germaine, year 1988.

Diner Dash

February 13, 2007

I finally finished the game Diner Dash last sunday wheeeeeeee. Ten levels, times 5 restaurants, 2 hours out of my working day…daily Alright! I first learned of this game a month ago when my officemate got addicted to it, the mobile version. I got intrigued coz I would often find her deeply engrossed in the game during our break times. I am really more into word games such as text twist, literati, hangman and etc. So I found the game a refreshing change.  She gave me the jar file and I installed it on my cellphone…and here I am after a month….completely hooked..line and sinker. The game is really addictive. I only found out later that it is a popular yahoo game. Diner Dash as described by yahoo is the game that brings out the entrepreneur in all of us! Sick and tired of pushing paper in the dreary world of finance, Flo (the name is just coincidental ;-) )ditched her desk job and now she's setting out to build her very own empire of high-class, five-star restaurants. Diner Dash blends the best in fast paced-action puzzles with a build-your-restaurant-empire theme. Serve your way from a run-of-the-mill greasy spoon to your dream restaurant that will take your breath away!

And I thought I would be able to work after finishing them game. Well I thought wrong, coz I discovered another game…Mystery Files: Ravenhearst.I'm still trying to find a cracked full version, i only have the trial one and i have to like re-install it every 1 hour or so. Playing the game is more addictive than Diner Dash.I think i'll need a hair transplant in New York after this coz sometimes I subconsciously pull my hair out when i'm frustrated with the game.I am so into Ravenhearst right now that I even forgot to check my blog first thing in the morning and i'm sooo behind my work. More about the game next time :-)

Join The Club

February 9, 2007

Last night, I was finally able to attend the first Davao bloggers EB. I get to meet a lot of pretty interesting people like Blogie , Jim  ,Ria ,Chris ,Marc,Andrew ,Dominique ,Jun and Tope. I find it funny to be introduced to someone with a .com in the end like "hi everyone meet george of blahblah.com".I won't go into details coz I guess there would be like 9 blog entries about the event last night. That’s what’s good about meeting bloggers coz everything would be properly documented ;-) (pix lifted from Blogie's site)

As I sat there, I began to ask myself “Why am I here again?”  I mean am I really taking blogging seriously that I’m even participating in EBs and planning parties? Can’t I just stay stuck in my little world and blog?

And I realized that this is what I’ve been missing lately…being passionate about something and going out of my way to meet people who shares the same passion as mine. I jut find it a nice feeling to know that others share your interest. At least you won’t run out of things to say and sometimes you get more committed to what you do and your passion increases ten folds.

While I was in school it was easy to meet fellow geeks, drama queens, aikido buff and wannabe writers….you just join the club. The opportunities were limitless. Now that I started working the opportunities become scant and sports fest and xmas party committee don’t count. Oh you can join the toastmaster’s club and the chess club who gathers weekly at the local park but I’m not really big on that and I’m really in no hurry to rub shoulders with senior citizens(peace out).

So last night for me was a reunion. A reunion for me and my passions. And it stirred something in me to pursue my other interests…so anybody interested to start a stamp collectors club or something?<insert snicker>

Davao Bloggers Party

February 5, 2007

I’ve been blabbing that I want to meet fellow bloggers in person but when the opportunity came, I chickened out. Last Friday I got an invite from Blogie for a mini-EB of Davao Bloggers

A little background. Blogie is a Davao blogger I met thru Davaosale. And his nick is really Blogie and I thought he was kidding. The name really fits him though :-)

Okay back to the invitation…I said I’ll come but unfortunately my companion was not able to make it and I didn’t have the guts to come alone. So I didn’t coz I was kinda intimidated by the expected attendees. I mean what do I really know about blogging with a capital B? What if they talk about techie stuff? Or worst…politics or social issues? I’m just an emo blogger. I just whine and complain about life and write memes.Yes i know…blogging is about expression..yaddayadda but still i can't help but think what can i say to this kind of crowd? Certainy not about my ex or my dog.I did some meet ups before but those with fellow girl bloggers whom I'm already quite comfortable with and even consider as friends. But anyways, they set a date for THE Davao Blogger’s party this March 17 and come hail or rain, I promised myself that I’ll come. To represent the emo bloggers , to meet interesting people ,learn more about blogging and just have a blast. Davao Bloggers, let’s volt in! :-D
