Valentine’s Day blah blahs
February 14, 2007I was racking my brains for something to write for Vday or something relative to it. I realled a poem that somebody gave me and so i searched my room for it. Before i was able to find it i unearthed a few valentine mementos.
A handmade Valentine card given by my first bestfriend Germaine, year 1988.
Below(left) is the first Valentine Card i remember receiving from my father, year 1987. At that time , i thought the words "and her family" meant my two brothers but now i know that my father just bought the wrong card
and the card that my father gave my mom. at that time i wondered why the card showed a picture of a pepper, i thought it was because of the color red but now i know better…mmm naughty papa
and lastly love letters from a vigilant suitor during 2nd year HS who seemed to be so infatuated with me that he courted me for 2 years and wrote me love letters almost everyday. Sometimes i think that he could have been the one but naaah I would've missed out on a lot of things.
Looking through these cards and letters made me realize that i am loved and have loved and no amount of hate and hurt in the world can take this love away from me. and oh yeah i never throw anything away , i'm such a sucker for keeping mementos so you can imagine the state of my room.
Post valentine update(Feb. 16)
Me and seven of my single and not so single friends just had a simple dinner just to celebrate Vday. We just ate out at this local Japanese restaurant. Nothing fancy like those San Diego Restaurants where i'm sure is THE ultimate dining experience. Anyways, when i got home that night, i found flowers and a gift on my bed from my parents. Love you ma and pa!

mementos, memories, things of the past, ex’s and reminders of them.. seems keep on popping out of their hiding places this valentine! I read at least 4 blogs with almost the same topic today…

Hey, this is so surreal. Exactly what happened to me on Valentines day. I read letters of my ex… Now, I’m thinking of keeping or burning them…
same here… i still have my cards and letters, and i love reading ‘em… i just keep them in a place that’s not so accessible coz once i start going through them, it would be difficult to stop.
so sweet of your mom and dad to give you something for v-day… you’re so blessed.
its still better to send “real” mails during special occassions. the feel of the card, the handwriting, the date… everything is just so good to let go of
mahanap nga yung mga nakatagong love letters dun.hehehehehe.
miss you girl and happy hearts day! =)
